Barbara Walters Just Sucks
So, here at Evil Beet, we didn’t cover the story about how Barbara Walters had a torrid affair with a married U.S. senator back in the ’70s, because I think it’s appalling that she would put him and his family through that, thirty years later, just to sell her stupid memoir. But now it’s time to bring it up, because, ladies and gentlemen, we have a catfight.
Babs went on Oprah recently and started talking shit about Star Jones and her weight loss. Said Barbara: “She decided to have a gastric bypass operation, but then she decided not to tell anybody. Then we had to lie on the set every day because she said it was portion control and Pilates. Well, we knew it wasn’t portion control and Pilates.”
This is so shitty of Barbara. I mean, I’m no Star Jones fan, but WTF is up with Barbara just throwing people under buses left and right to sell her goddamn book? It’s classless, classless, classless.
Of course, Star had something to say about that. She tells Us Weekly: “It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book. It speaks to her true character.”
And you know what? I agree with Star Jones! I never thought I’d say that!
Shut up, Barbara. You’ve accomplished so much in your lifetime. There are so many other, distinguished parts of your life to recall in interviews. Why are you pissing it all away by acting like a shameless, fame-whoring jackass now? Just stop, woman.

the rules of fame are changing. Back in the day it was class and dignity that kept you famous. Now a days its how trashy you are. You can hate on Barb, but she is no idiot. She’s keeping up with the times.

I saw part of the Oprah show and it felt like suuuuuch a stunt. You can tell Barbara is a media hog. All of her “emotions” felt rehearsed and fake.
This also pisses me off about Oprah. I’m not a huge follower of hers but she did the 2-day advertisement for Tom Cruise recently too. All that just for his new website. Lame

Barbara has, in my opinion, been nothing more than a celebrity ass kisser for most of her “journalistic” career. The reverent (almost worshipfull) tone in her voice that she employs when interviewing her mostly vain and superficial subjects is nauseating. I don’t think that there has ever been a rich, powerfull person whom she did not adore. They are all wonderfull wonderfull, wonderfull to our Barbara.

It’s worth pointing out that Star Jones issued the classic “non-denial denial” - trashing the accuser, but not challenging the accusation. Translation: Babs may have been a bitch for saying what she did, but what she said is probably true.
