I totally agree with Curiosity Strong here; although I don’t know Gary and his family, I know that if I’d written an email to a friend I’d expect them not to publish it, even if they were in the media world. We don’t even know if his email wasn’t in response to one his friend had sent but LOL does imply that the email was personal and not sent as a publicity stunt (Oh and by the way, LOL also means Lots of Love (which is more probable in this case) and not laugh out loud as I am taking that the author of this article implies).

Now I’m not sticking up for him but:

We don’t know the outcome of the tests or if the drugs were his or not. In fact what happened to ‘innocent until proven guilty’ (or does this only apply to cases of your own friends and families and not those in the media)?

IF Gary has a problem I’m sure that if and when he is ready, with the help of his family and his friends he would be able to sort himself out (sometimes it takes times like this to sort out who your true friends are). It’s not for us to judge him.

Additionally just a further thought, I’m betting if most people were partying all weekend and fell asleep in their cars, for a short period of time, they’d look like crap and be a bit disorientated if they too were woken up in the early hours in the morning

Come on people leave him alone… I m sure it wasn’t his bag and even if it was, then I m sorry for him and if he can’t leave this shit alone! But anyway it’s NONE of our businesss and it’s his private life! Yeah whatever try to make him look bad and say that he paid the cops… bla bla bullshit…. He’s such a great actor and a so good-looking guy just respect that don’t try to judge him on what U THINK he’s done!

Sagittarius Rising – I’m sorry this response is going to sound a bit snarky but you really made me laugh. I was just giving an alternative opinion. I even said I was just guessing.

SR – You can’t read – I called him a former black “heroin-chic” looking model. Look it up. You don’t have to be a heroin addict to look like one. It’s a style – not a life-style. In many photos he was extremely skinny, really unkempt (you could have made dreads in his sideburns a goatee) and had that glazed “I’m too sexy to be in my own head” look. I don’t know what drugs he has used and I am certainly not going to find articles from 15 years ago to give you the “facts”. Here’s what I do remember – he admits he was not just a “recreational” drug user. He used to be addicted to hard drugs. He also said he had no problems giving them up once he finally realized what they were doing to him. At other times he openly admits to using soft drugs – namely marijuana – which means he is not a celebrity desperately trying to keep his image clean.
And just another speculation on my part – He did say that in the past his addiction(s) made him really skinny. I know he is a lot older now but he currently looks like his new addiction is to donuts. Personally I am not complaining. I love a man with muscles underneath and a good snuggle layer on top but unless Ben-and-Jerry’s now comes in “Cocaine Cocoa” and “Double Ecstasy” these pictures don’t make me immediately think of drug addiction.

ok – so where are your facts for this statement. This could have as much legitimacy as coming from his own mother or it can be one of those “A friend says” that the celebrity mags use to mean someone who once handed him a coffee and will say anything to get paid. The word “Intervention” really sells.

Again I disagree. I believe the term would not be “proof” but “circumstantial evidence”. The American legal system is probably the most prolific user of “Piss-in-this-Cup-while-an-Officer-Watches Evidence” on the planet. If none of those drugs are in his body it is a bit of a hint that those drugs aren’t his – unless you are suggesting that he is in such bad financial shape that he is now dealing on the weekends. But again this is just a guess from his leaked email. Please don’t ask me for his test results.

Ok people, first of all that msg he wrote was to the chic from Access Hollywood and she should have never released the email via internet–if they are friends she should have kept that between them, whether she thought she was doing him justice or not. I have been friends with his sister for some years now and I’m not running around telling people what I’ve been talking to her about! Anyway, what he does with his life is just that–HIS LIFE. He has so much love for his daughter and respect for his family, if he was mixed up in anything this has been an awakening and will allow him to get the help he needs.
For the ‘lawyer-in-training’, if i was out partying, drinking and possibly smoking pot, i’d be disoriented too–that’s why falling a sleep was essential for Gary. You don’t expect the officer to say ” Oh he was very coherent and chipper, yet we found all these drugs in his car!” And there are such things as forensics labs where the luggage was probably taken and prints ran, etc.. to prove the luggage didn’t belong to him. What law school are you attending? Just curious to compare it to Columbia Law.

I support Gary in finding help and peace with his demons. Spirit knows none of us are perfect. I hope he finds his soul and affirmation of talent and healing ability through his celebrity, I would wish this for any human being. More specifically to “notme” post. I would like you to show where Gary has ever stated that he has been a Heroin user in his past? Alcoholic yes, drugs yes, I don’t recall he ever said ‘WHAT’ DRUG he was addicted to. Rasta Mon? Yes, but ironically there was no weed found! When this story broke, there was an interview from a member of the staff from CSI that already confirmed that Gary was on drugs and that they were going to do an intervention. Gary was fired from CSI. The drugs were HIS and he needs help. His publicist is no longer working for Gary, which is why he released this “email” to a friend. This is HIS STATEMENT. Gary is on a downward spiral if he doesn’t get the help, listen to the support from family and friends etc. I hardly recall ANY addict admitting, especially one that has celebrity status, that they are addicts unless they are put in enough predicaments to do so. You have to remove the self and opinions and look at the facts as they are presented, Gary is unfortunately, trying to cover his bases and his ass so that he can not do too much time. Let us not forget that the arresting officer stated that when found, he was disoriented and seemed to be under the influence of either alcohol and or drugs. Gary’s statement is full of holes and contradictions, and yes, i agree he needs a publicist fast! This is a man who cares a great deal about his image, of course it is how he makes a profit, however, he may do a little bit of time behind this, who knows? Bringing in the children, family…. is a ploy, a legal anchor. I want to know how did the Sgt. KNOW those drugs were not his? There is no way to prove that, at that time, unless there was someone’s identification in the luggage, and if that were the case, where the hell was the owner? I could go on and on…. I am studying to be an attorney, and am also a professional astrologist, Gary has addictive indications in his chart, if so, if he has admitted to be an addict in his past, then it isn’t technically in his PAST, it is well into his present, lets pray he gets his self together so that it isn’t apart of his future.

These comments are not from a public apology. They were in an email he sent to a “friend”. They were not intended to be released. He has also been very honest about his drug use in the distant past. In his modeling days he was a skinny black version of “heroin-chic” and he admits he was a drug addict. He’s a Rastafarian and openly admits to marijuana use now but he claims he gave up hard drugs long ago.
He had already been “let go” from CSI when he was arrested so based on his past candidness about drugs I think it’s possible they weren’t his. I’m just guessing but if his life was in the crapper because of drug addiction he might likely admit it and go with the “But I’m getting help” public simpathy angle.
