Okay, as bummed out as I am that little Eight Belles had to be put down, and as much as I’m growing increasingly frustrated with the entire “sport” of thoroughbred horse racing, I have to admit, I love love love checking out what people wear to this event. The costumes are always so fabulous!

i think chelsea looks great, and her dress is lovely(even if it does remind me a little of the scene at the races from My Fair Lady).
Hillary Clinton picked Eight Belles to win, a filly that Clinton compared herself to as a fighter in the presidential race. Eight Belles was later euthanized with two broken legs, after coming in second. Hillary Clinton’s hoping for a better outcome for her candidacy.
okay so i watched the kentucky derby and when they came in with the news that the second place horse, eight belles, had to be put down because of two broken ankles i literally cried my eyeballs out. it was awful. so yeah i’m with ya beet on not knowing about this whole “sport” or horse racing. buuuuuuuuuut yes the outfits are completely fab. i liked leanne womack’s outift ALOT.
Have you ever had a Mint Julep? They’re horrid. I hope everyone got wise and drank cosmos instead. Blech!!!
