In my opinion, this is Not a “beautiful” photo. It looks like she is about to do a 360 with her head and spew pea soup. However, if this pix is a big deal, did anybody see her and her dad on the country music awards show a couple of weeks ago? Her outfit was totally inappropriate for a young girl. The dress was open in front to the waist and her shoes were straight out of Frederick’s of Hollywood! If she is going to be a role model for young girls, let’s be consistant here! If I had a daughter, I wouldn’t let her out of the house in that get-up. She looked like a hooker!

so miley took a few photos that some narrow minded people object to.It was her choice and it dont make her a bad person or a bad role model.It makes her human.get over your selves and get a life shes not out partying and getting drunk or getting busted with drugs.Like some stars her age.she seems to be a pretty leval headed teenager.And in my opinion she still the best role model out there for kids and teens..I have a niece 9 and she wants to be just like Miley.

I really don’t think there is anything wrong with it.
Being a photographer myself I undertand what Annie Liebowitz is saying… Its just her back…

It’s strange that you can have artistic nude photographs (no not child porn) of very young children (under 15) and then people over 18 but any age between that, even more so if the subject is famous, is suddenly horrible

While I appreciate that you agree with me, I will agree to disagree with you re: my use of the word magnanimous. In addition to meaning “generous in forgiving insult or injury,” magnanamous may also mean “nobly high-minded”. Feel free to look it up! My use in this context was, again, meant to be facetious.

Perhaps what I wrote wasn’t quite sarcastic enough; let me expound! It is ironic that the masses (mainly the Morals and Values crowd) come down on MRC from their “High Horse,” and want her to suffer some “consequences,” yet run out and buy her videos, CDs, log on to MySpace to see the “scandalous” pics, and pick up a copy of Vanity Fair while they are waitning in the WalMart checkout line. The best punishement they could dole out would be to NOT open their wallets.

Dude I don’t see any problem with these pictures at all.
I think this is the biggest over reaction over a fucking picture that has ever occurred.
Maybe i’m biased because I go to art school and I’m used to stuff like it.
But I think the public has a serious problem with accepting things.
This isn’t even REMOTELY sexual, and anyone who thinks it is, is a pervert that thinks a 15 year old girl is sexually attractive.
I think this dead horse has been beaten quite a lot.
