Look, I know a lot of you feel that I should leave the civilians out of this blog, and normally I do, but Cynthia Nixon’s girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, is so fundamentally unattractive that I just can’t stop myself from pointing it out every time I see her. I’m sure she is a wonderful, beautiful person, but do you know what this picture reminds me of?
Remember that scene from The Wedding Singer where there’s that fat boy at the Bar Mitzvah? And no one will dance with him and he’s sad? And then Adam Sandler grabs the mic and tells hottie Drew Barrymore to pick the boy she’d most like to dance with? And they’re all begging her to pick them, but she picks the fat boy and dances with him and he’s all happy? Yeah. That’s what comes to mind here.
But in some ways I have to give Cynthia props for obviously looking beyond traditional, shallow values. This is obviously the real thing, and I guess I’m happy for them. I’m sure Christine is a really wonderful person, and I can’t really sit here and talk shit, as my insistence on finding a man who is funny, smart, interesting, caring, honest, loving and also ridiculously hot has resulted in me being single forever. I guess at some point I might have to let go of the “honest” criterion.

well Beet, I guess you’ll have to let go of other criteria too and satisfy with the possibility of finding a:
guy that is with you even if you are sick and look like shit
guy that won’t leave you for another person
guy that works and does not expect you to do and care for most stuff
guy that loves and cares for kids that come along
I could go on, but that seems enough for now
(In my other post I agreed with Valzinha, I guess Nixon has a sexual problem there; a woman is a woman, a man is a man)

You are ignorant to say that women are women and men are men. Gender is a social construction. You imply that women should behave, dress, act a certain way. So what if Christine is breaking through society’s views of what gender boundaries are with her dress and appearance. It doesn’t make her less of a woman. It makes her herself.

It’s a cool tie. And beautiful lesbians like Cynthia are attracted to butch types because most gays, like most straight people, relate to the masculine/feminine polarity thing. (BTW I’d say that Christine is way better looking than Cate Blanchett’s husband.)
I find it strange that they actually look like brother and sister… But whatever turns your crank! At the end of the day, it’s Cynthia who has to live by her choices, and she seems genuinely happy. Good for her! She’s obviously got it all.

When I looked at the picture with out seeing who it was. I though it was a Mother and her Son. Cynthia of course the mom and her GF was the goofy looking 18 year old male.

Gender is a SOCIAL CONSTRUCT? Now I think I’ve heard it all. What kind of whackadoo propagandist came up with that gem? No, sorry, gender is a biological FACT, and gender tendencies and traits are scientifically recorded and proven. to “you are ignorant says” if you believe that insanity about gender being a social construct” that you just posted then, yes you are very ignorant! So are you going to say blue eyes are a social construct next?
