Rock On, Jenny McCarthy
April 2nd, 2008 by Evil BeetI don’t really understand what they’re arguing about, but I love that Jenny McCarthy is fighting her ass off in support of autism research and proper treatment. And I love that she said “bullshit” on CNN.

WAY To go Jenny McCarthy! She is totally right! Those assholes are trying to protect the drug industry, which is the biggest threat to America’s health… medicee and profit.. what the fuck.

I agree with Jenny. The drug industry is just as cut-throat as the oil industry. These children are being poisoned with too many vaccinations.

My mom works with special needs children and more and more of her patients are coming in with autism. I applaud Jenny for putting her popularity and money to good use.

It says a lot about people when they are more excited about someone losing their cool and saying “bullshit” on TV than the content of the discussion.
Look, people - there is NO CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE that vaccines cause autism. It scares me to death to see so many people more excited about emotion than evidence. I’m not saying that vaccines do NOT cause autism - they may. But research needs to show whether they do or not - otherwise, researchers are barking up the wrong tree in terms of a cure or symptom management of autism. Don’t you all want an effective cure????
I know it is really cool right now to be against drug companies but here is a cold hard fact: there would be alot more angry and devastated mothers like Jenny McCarthy out there if all of the vaccines and drugs that we have did not exist.
Bottom line: vaccines save lives. Don’t believe me? Then take a second a google diptheria, small pox, measles, mumps and other diseases against which we are vaccinated. They are horrible diseases that kill without pity.
I feel sorry for Ms. McCarthy and I understand that she is driven to find a solution. That is very admirable. But on this issue and so many others, we need to stop being driven by the emotion and look at the evidence. The sooner we do, the more likely we are to arrive at the answers we need.

Vaccines save lives. BUT . . . . there is no need to give so many in one shot. There is no reason to include Mercury in the shot. Jenny McCarthy is empowering parents to take issue with blindly following what their doctors say. Always check out the drugs you are prescribed. Why are you taking them? Get your older family members off drugs. Drugs can be wonderful, but watch all those commercials on TV. You see drug ads more than ads for soda. Why? Why would a drug need to advertise? If I need a drug, my doctor would tell me about it. I don’t need to see an ad on TV and think “Hey let me try that?” Scary world.

Manderley -
I completely agree with everything you say. I am 100% for parents and other people getting involved and knowledgable about their vaccines and health care treatments in general.
My point is that it is positively ridiculous to portray vaccines and drugs as villains. They aren’t. Drugs are to be respected and used judiciously. People like J. McCarthy are making it sound as if vaccines are the CAUSE of autism when that has not been proven. She also is making it appear as if drugs/vaccines do more harm than good. That is preposterous and there is overwhelming evidence to show this.
Empowering people with false hopes and ideas is not empowerment but enslavement. Please base your decisions on hard evidence.

Thimerisol is no longer used as a preservative in vaccines.
The amount that *was* used, when it was used, was WELL below toxic levels.
If you don’t even know the basic facts about a subject you should take the time to read up on it *before* you make statements that are both inflammatory and false.
If you don’t vaccinate your child you endanger not only your own family, but mine as well. Stop listening to FOX news and start listening to the scientists who have made it their life’s work to study these matters. Take the time to understand the issues at hand and the *PEER REVIEWED* scientific articles available.
