Australian Magazine Apologizes for Revealing Prince Harry Was in Afghanistan

New Idea magazine, an Australian publication, has issued an apology for running a story disclosing Prince Harry’s military whereabouts. It says it was unaware that the British MoD had an agreement with major news outlets not to reveal that Harry was in Afghanistan.

“We do acknowledge that our actions in publishing the story can be reasonably viewed as insensitive and irresponsible,” the magazine says. They call the story a “serious lapse of judgment.”

We’re still waiting on an apology from Matt Drudge …

    So let me get this right… an Aussie Magazine revealed this info about Prince Harry and now it’s still Matt Drudge’s fault too? I am grappling to find what the real reason is for bashing Drudge when he merely was doing what the NY Times tries to do - reveal the truth?

    Did they honestly think they were the first to break the story after months or weeks of him going over there? If something is happening with the royal family the press is all over it-especially the Biritish press. It wouldn’t have been a stretch to see if there was a reason a report hadn’t come out. A little due diligence by the “news media” please.

    the media needs to learn to keep their mouths shut about these things. there are more lives at stake than just his. like all the people serving around him. by leaking not just this, but things like this, they are not just breaking a story, but breaching security.
