Oh, happy day!
Girls Gone Wild founder/rapist Joe Francis has lost his bid to be released from a Nevada jail without fear of being extradited to Florida.
Joe’s in jail in Nevada for tax evasion. He’s wanted in Florida on charges related to filming underage girls on spring break, naked.
On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Brian Sandoval denied arguments by Francis’ lawyers that would have freed Francis, but kept Florida prosecutors from jailing him.
Oh, Joe. Every day you’re in jail is a happy day for me.

I do not know what to say. It is not in my place to judge but I can say, if it were my daughter no matter that age, both of them would be in trouble with me. Joe would see more than a book coming at him, and my daughter would never see the other side of her bedroom door until she was old enough to be a grandmother.
In all serousness, this is a topic that we should all handle with care and support those who has been exploited by this character.

Whether you agree or disagree with the films he made, I’m surprised a lot of people are so quick to state how happy they are to see him in jail. Do you really know WHY he is in jail? Do you know that he really hasn’t done anything wrong. He has fallen into the trap of a few “bigwigs” who don’t agree with his types of films and are using technicalities to keep him in jail. I guess it would take one of you to get a creative, profitable idea, then have your free speech rights stripped from you because someone doesn’t share your thoughts on the subject.

I just got back from the US (I’m Canadian) after seeing the awesomeness that is Bruce Springsteen (had to brag) but on point, I saw a commercial for a Girls Gone Wild video. I had thought it was just about girls flashing their breasts but no, they somehow managed to convince girls to masturbate for their cameras.
Ok, our countries are similar, Canada is all about the free speech and you can say whatever you want, etc etc etc but Joe Francis is reprehensible. He preyed on drunken girls with possible self-esteem issues and got them to do things they probably would have said no to after a sober second thought. First of all, as much as I hate Girls Gone Wild, everyone has a right to free speech. But there SHOULD be laws against what he does. He makes millions of dollars off of drunk, young girls (mostly teenagers - and who hasn’t done dumb things as a teen) who exchange their dignity for a t-shirt. A lot of people are saying “You don’t see men doing that.” Well that’s because in our society, men are the ones catered to, and women are encouraged to do this sort of thing. Why ARE they doing this? What has caused it? For some, it may be general attention-whoring, but for many who knows? Maybe they were molested and act out with sexual behaviour, maybe they want male approval…it doesn’t matter. Yes, they should know better, but damn, so should the executives making money off of them. This is exploitation in its rawest form. And Joe Francis IS a rapist. I trust the freakin’ Chicago Tribune. We live in a country where the victim is rarely believed when it comes to rape.
