Outlook Good for Patrick Swayze
March 5th, 2008 by Evil BeetThe star’s publicist released this statement today:
“Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick’s physician Dr. George Fisher states, ‘Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.’ Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”
Get better, buddy!!!! We’re cheering you on!!!

I am just wondering if he is still a single? I saw his personal ad with many photos at a beautiful site named Richr omances.com. He looks great over there.

Best wishes and get well soon Patrick….my favorite piece of his acting was his Saturday Night Live bit with Chris Farley where the two of them were trying out to be Chippendale dancers. What a study in contrasts!

I want to believe this PR spin. I really do. I like Patrick Swayze. But then I consider the statistics on Pancreatic Cancer and I find them daunting.
E.D. and JS, thanks for the refresher on compelling Swayze moments. Ah, Roadhouse and SNL. I’ll add Point Break, To Wong Foo, and City of God. Diverse roles, handled well by this talented actor. Ghost and Dirty Dancing may stand as his most celebrated films, but they’re far from the only roles in which he has managed to shine.

Yep only 6 percent of people with pancreatic cancer live to tell about it after 5 years…

Man alive, I really hope this is blown out of proportion… my grandpa died of pancreatic cancer that spread to just about every other digestive organ five years ago. It’s like watching someone rot, literally. Poor Pat, I hope you can beat this. Nobody deserves to deal with what this bullshit dishes out.

After Googling, “Pancreatic Cancer”, the info I found there is really not reassuring, more than 30,000 deaths every year from this affliction! What’s really disturbing is that the lymphatic system spreads it quickly to every part of the body, chemo seems the only way to go at this time. If discovered in its later stages, its usually lethal! Pat has a bumpy road ahead of him, he should know that we are with him all the way, we don’t want to lose you! Pat, chin up!, and beat this!
