I actually have a question about home schooling and a high school diploma. Who issues the diploma? Do homeschoolers end up needing to get a GED as an official document anyway or is Mom & Dad High accepted by colleges and universities? I know nothing about home schooling issues, but maybe she’s wrapping things up early.

I’m sure the majority of you writing are fans of Jamie Lynn and/or are young, I always thought she was a hell of a lot prettier than her sis, but getting pregnant at 16 is unacceptable. There are condoms and birth control and other ways to protect yourself in today’s world. A baby is a lot of work and money and that’s what people don’t realize. There is no excuse, and if you think about it, people who get pregnant that are young think if they get married everything is going to be okay, but a kid is not going to make your relationship work. Children need good roll models, both a mom and a dad, otherwise they lack much emotional support and needs. You also need to be well off before you have a child. At 16, she is still a child herself and is still learning. You lose so much when something like this happens. There goes your social life and your dreams to become someone. It’s so much harder to do the things you want. And just because she has money doesn’t mean “someone can just watch the kid all the time”. A child needs a mother and father’s nuturing and company to learn and grow. Without it, they become fucked up in the head and often have many issues later in life. No wonder there are so many fucked up kids out there! Think before you make “mistakes” like this one! In the end, you have to own up to it and say “Yeah, I fucked up bad”! And it doesn’t help that she plays on a kids show Zoey 101, what kind of message are we sending other teens? That it’s ok to get pregnant, that your parents are going to accept that? Get real! I feel for jamie lynn i do, it was a mistake i’m sure but isn’t she lucky she has her boyfriend standing by her & also her family thats a lot more than most people. She has been & still is in a strong commited relationship despite what the rumour mill have conjured up in the past couple of weeks. This world is screwed up–when babies are having babies! Yes Jamie has to live with what she has done,but does it make it RIGHT? She is young and it is hard enough to be a parent let alone a teen parent and then people say she has enough money get someone to take care of the baby? That is so crazy to think you can just keep on having kids and pass them off to someone else–Then the STATE has to pay for food,shelter,medical,dental,ect. and because this is so easy for them they keep on having more babies– They can not get out of the rut cause they have no money or time to get schooling or a good job to pay the bills so the State keeps on paying for them–which is wrong they need to get off there ASSES and work like I do!!! So back to Jamie she is a teen and yes she has money, but not all (and most do not) have the money to hire a nanny and to get private schooling ect. so Jamie and all of Hollywood with there drinking drugs should feel shame as should the World for letting our Kids get into trouble. Watch your kids talk about the consequences of things . So many think this life style is okay and that it will work out- It really never works out it is a cycle-one that keeps going around and hopefully all that think this is okay—-It just might BITE YOU IN THE ASS one day then you can let us all know how wonderful it is. OMG it is hard enough to make sure your teen is doing the right things let alone a teen with a BABY! For example Jamie is PREGNANT and who was watching her??? Parents need to be there for there kids talk about everything— I do I have 2 teenage girls and believe you me they know the consequences. So talk to your kids before it is to late Babies are wonderful little people–They bring so much joy into your lives, but when you are old enough to handle it –once you are married settled down have your career in place or at least your husbands. People need to THINK of course no one wants Jamie to have a bad time, but she should never have gotten to this. When you have your children at more of an appropriate age- as I did I had friends that had kids of similar ages and you talk and learn from them. As a teen mother you have to go to support groups it is not real — you need people you know and trust there judgement not that the support groups are not trust worthy, but they are not your age nor your original friends- so you should sustain yourself from kids till you are not one!!

I think that Britney is a good mom, despite what the magazines say, they make her look like the worst mom in the world. They only put the bad things in the magazines instead of the good things. And i think that Jamie Lynn will be a great mom to, shes already been responsible by keeping the baby. She is already going through a hard time by getting pregnant at such a young age, she doesnt need people talking bad about her to. To all the parents out there who think that she has bad parents and you blame everything thats happening on them…I seriously doubt you know everything your child is doing, i have so many friends who have given into peer pressure and have had sex already at a young age and there parents think they have the best kids in the world and think that they would NEVER do something like that. I don’t quite understand why everyone is being so hard on Jamie Lynn. I think her making the decision to keep the baby was really respectable and responsible. It’s not like she is some whore as everyone is trying to make her out to be. She has had a boyfriend for 2 years now. Everyone is making a big deal out of nothing, just because she is famous and the little sister of Britney Spears. People get pregnant when they are even younger than 16 all the time, so what makes this so different? And everyone knows damn well just as I do, that that kid will not go without a thing. It’s mother has more money than a lot of people make in their whole life. So enough with it already!!! I wish the best for her.

I think it’s bad timing because as a young mother myself (had my daughter at 19) I know how hard it will be. Truth is though, whether we think it or not… GOD himself has a plan for Jamie and that baby of hers. We all have made mistakes but it’s not our place to judge her or anyone else in her situation. It’s His! I wish her the best and hope she gets the support and love from her family that I got.

Anyone who says that she should get an abortion are inconsiderate. Abortions are sick and wrong. If you don’t want a baby don’t have sex with someone. And if you do happen to get pregnant then put it up for adoption when you have it. Don’t take your mistake out on your baby. The baby IS alive when it’s growing inside the womb, i don’t care what anyone says. The process of an abortion is absolutely horrific and sick, no one, especially a baby who is defenseless, deserves that. It doesn’t matter if you got raped and got pregnant…PUT IT UP FOR ADOPTION. You parents out there who act like you are just SOOOOOO devastated over her pregnancy really need to get a life! Do you guys feel that it is so terrible because she has a TV show, she’s 16 or because teen pregnancy is pretty normal now a days??? Those of you who have kids need to realize that telling them not to watch Zoey 101 is not going to keep them from having sex/getting pregnant! If you don’t want your sons and daughters seeing pregnant teens then don’t let them breathe the air outside and certainly don’t let them watch TV at all? If anything, this should be the time when parents sit down and talk to their kids about sex and the consequences of being a young mother. Shielding your child does not protect them from anything, it just makes matters worse. And no, I do not think that she should get an abortion either, her baby did not ask to be conceived and certainly should have the chance to live. If she had had an abortion all of you would have been on her back about her being young and irresponsible anyway!!

PS-I’m 19 years old and I got pregnant at the age of 16 by my first love and had my son when i was 17. My mother never let me go anywhere or do anything with my friends. I wasn’t allowed to be a teen! When it comes to sex my mother always told me I could talk to her about anything but then she would flip out on me anyway so I didn’t tell her when I did start having sex. I tried to be responsible and got on birth control pills, only I was young and I didn’t have an adult to talk about it to. When I got sick, I took antibiotics which weakened my birth control and I got pregnant. The funny thing about it is that my mother got pregnant the same way and had she been a better and more understanding mother, we would have talked about it and it would have never happened! But it is very hard but I finished high school, I have a great job, I’m married and I don’t depend on anyone to help us out. But every story does not always end that way…there are always teen mothers on Maury trying to get these men to help take care of their child

I dont think anyone should be blaming Jamie Lynn Spears’ mom for what happend. She can’t be watching her daughter 24/7. Thats obviously impossible, the only thing Lynn Spears could do is just have a talk with Jamie Lynn about sex and how it would be better to wait and I have no doubt that she had that talk with her before she starting having sex. Jamie Lynn made her own decision to have premarital sex and look what happend. Don’t blame the parent, blame the kid.
I dont think it is right that children should be having children but when that situation falls into a childs lap, they need to take responsibility for it which is why I am very happy that Jamie Lynn made the right decision to keep the baby, it shows responsibility which also shows maturaty. I honestly think she is lucky, because she has a boyfriend who is staying with her through this all, he didn’t just abandon her, and she has supporting family and friends. Most people in her situation aren’t that lucky.
We dont live in a perfect world obviously, its unrealistic for kids not to have sex, admit it or not. There are some kids out there who have sex for attention and it makes them feel good about themselves, or they’re curious about it, and then there’s peer pressure.
I feel very sorry for her right now, just because she is famous, people have their eye on her more than anyone. She is just like anyone else, and just like everyone else she makes mistakes to. She didnt ask anyone to look at her as a role model. Role Models dont exist, those who seem perfect just are better at hiding their flaws.
I wish Jamie Lynn the best of luck, i know she will be the best mother she can be.

If anything, I do think that it’s a good thing that people are addressing her situation. Parents are most likely talking to their kids more about sex and how they should wait. I come from holyoke,MA. there are girls as young as 13 and 14 havin’ babys. not because there hoez or sluts, alot of them got pregnant there first time havin’ sex!!!!!!

You know the only reason everyone is blowing the fact that jamie lynn spears is pregnant out of proportion is because she just so happens to be a celeb if it was any other sixteen year old girl it would be no big deal and no one would care so everyone needs to sit back and realize that this happens to alot more people than just jamie lynn spears there were two people in my high school class who had two kids by the time they were eighteen and no one cared so why is it a big deal now because she has money because her name is known like how does what she does affect ne one else and the fact that parents say that their children cant watch her show because shell be a bad role model is bull shit id say shes handling herself very well AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH GETTING A GED THATS WHAT I DID AND I HAD NO PROBLEM GETTING ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE SO ALL YOU WHO THINK “ITS NOT EQUIVALENT TO THE PAPER ITS PRINTED ON” HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT do you have ne idea how many celebs have just gone and gotten their geds and are some of the most successful richest people in the world so i suggest you get all the facts before you start making judgements! i have no doubt in my mind that jamie lynn will handle this with grace has she has since she came out and said she was pregnant and for everyone to look down on her because of her sisters mistakes is ridiculous and did ne one ever think about how hard it would be for you to live your life straight if your name was always in the tabloids and you were always being talked about whether it be the truth or not no one cared look at how many other stars have had drug addictions and alcohol addictions so why is britneys such a big deal if you can look past everyone else why focus on her shit id be depressed to if i had to live a life where everyone just focused on negativity instead of honestly trying to help… i have one hundred percent faith that jamie lynn will make it through all this just fine but for the time being find someone elses life to focus on how would you feel if there were people talking about you constantly and telling you how to live your life..

I think it is stupid that she got pregnant. She should have thought about it before, she has her whole life and CAREER infront of her and she’s blowning it. …Now I think everyone is just alittle to obssesive over her, there are at least 5 pregnant girls in my school and NOONE gives them as much shit as this. Just back off and let her be. she made amistake and now she’s paying for it, she doesn’t need extra stress.
(The fact that she is a celeb sucks for her in this situation)
