Robin Williams Shows Up to Tape Late Show with David Letterman During Writers Strike, Pictures, Photos

Robin Williams arrived at the Late Show studios on Wednesday, as he’s the guest for Letterman’s return to television.

Letterman’s the first late-night host to come back since the writer’s strike.

I wonder if Robin’s gonna take shit from the WGA for agreeing to be on.

I’d think not since Letterman’s writers aren’t among those on strike anymore.

  2. keith says:

uhhhhhhhhh. didn’t dave sign a separate contract with the WGA

  3. Writer says:

Worldwide Pants, David Letterman’s company, owns both The Late Show and The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. And Worldwide Pants has reached an individual contract agreement with the WGA that allows the writers for both shows to go back to work without violating strike protocol. So any guest appearing on The Late Show or Late Late Show will not be crossing picket lines. But any guest appearing on Leno’s Tonight Show, for example, WILL be crossing picket lines.

Actually Jay Leno came back as well last night. Dave has is own company do the writing. Leno however has no writers and is under strict orders that the material on the show has to be all his own.

I suppose guests do not have to use writer’s lines when going to talk shows,or?
Guests may be sympathetic to writer’s strike, but they also have to look after their own interests and contracts, especially if they are promoting a new series or movie.
