Okay, I Think It’s About Time Someone Explained to My Ass Who These Jonas Brothers Are
The Great White Underage Hope, Miley Cyrus, has reportedly broken up with one of these Jonas Brothers kids. I guess they were secretly dating, and now they’re not-so-secretly breaking up.
I’ve been ignoring these kids for as long as they’ve been on the scene, because, you know, I’m too old and crotchety to care about dudes I can’t legally bang, but Miley is my hope for the future of this blog. If Lindsay stays sober, Paris stays pleasant and Britney dies, I need Miley to be fucking up. So I’ve started following her closely.
So who are these boys??? Why are they so famous??? Someone explain please.
And when is Wilmer Valderrama gonna step up and start dating Miley? Isn’t it, like, his whole job now to bang the underage starlets? DO YOUR THING, Wilmer!

Here’s something I learned yesterday. I was hanging out with a mother in my neighborhood (who is probably one of the coolest ladies I’ve ever met) and she was telling me that she used to be best friends with their dad back in h.s.
She said that after graduation he got all religious and stopped talking to anyone and she never heard anything about him again.
Then while reading her hometown newspaper (from wherever) there was a whole write up on the Jonas family because the guy was their dad and from there. He had changed his last name from Nichols (or something like that) to Jonas and the rest is annoying kid band history.
What I want to know is, what’s up with the other kid band, The Naked Brothers Band? That’s creepy.

The Jonas Brothers are a young boy band of three BROTHERS…..who would of thought that, right? Anyway, they have an album out and everything. Their another group of kids that Disney made famous, they have guest starred on a few disney shows and I am pretty sure they are getting their own show on Disney sometime this coming year. Their fan base is generally 13 years and younger, they are a cute group of boys (not as huge as NSYNC was though back in our day Ha Ha) I think they became famous in large part To Miley’s relationship with one of them (I dont know which one) because Miley & Hannah Montana are pretty huge with the kid crowd.
The only reason I know this much is because my 9 year old sister is a huge fan.

3 brothers, born in NJ.
Youngest discovered @ 5 in barbershop singing. Did some plays. Failed solo album. From his age I’d guess that was 1992.
Band’s first album (It’s About Time) was a limited release and a dud (Aug 8 ‘06); it sold 40k copies. Columbia Records dropped them.
Shortly, they signed with Hollywood Records and Disney. This was evidently good for their careers. (D. owns Hollywood Records and is, if I remember right, Hillary Duff, Miley Cyrus, Hayden Panettiere, and such.)
Quick Facts:
1) They are slated to be touring with Miley Cyrus from OCT 07 to JAN 08
2) I’d rather stick a pencil in my ears than listen to them.
3) I’m old enough to be their father. :(p
4) They appear to actually have some talent.
5) The oldest is 20 the youngest 15.

Well, Hanson (thank you for bringing back the nightmare) was an actual independent band that was discovered in err Oklahoma I think.
They signed with Def Jam and actually had some talent. The idiots kept rejecting dozens of songs from them so they left.
Their independent album (Un) was the most successful indie album of all time. (2004)
Disney is going the other way around. They have a venue (the Disney Channel) and plaster these people all over the stations.
The tween crowd sees them and assumes that because they’re “popular” they must be good.
Pop music since the 80’s hasn’t changed. It is pretty much the beetles with some bubblegum techo inserted. Same songs, same bands every year. And it makes money.
Witness Belinda Carlisle(49) and Tiffany (Tiffany Renee Darwish 36?). Same music pretty much. Same songs.
I’m guessing it appeals to young girls because music is (a) a social activity and promotes bonding and role modeling and (b) expresses basic tween relationship issues.

I’ll tell you why they’re famous… it’s because Disney or Nickelodeon or whichever channel they’re on (I can’t keep them all straight) WANTS them to be famous. They’re creating a smoke-and-mirrors illusion of fame and talent out of a bunch of bad actors and actresses with mediocre voices and/or looks. The same goes for Jamie Lynn, Miley Cyrus, and a gaggle of other talentless (but potentially attractive) barely teens.
Disney and Nick have both learned that kids are fickle and easily manipulated, and all it takes to create a megastar ($2000 for a Miley Cyrus concert ticket?!?) is to convince the kids that they really, really think the star is awesome. This is easily achieved by convincing the kids that EVERY ONE ELSE thinks they are really, really awesome. Before you know it, their stardom gains momentum and begin powering itself.
Paris Hilton was an example of the same trick (albeit she used a more x-rated catalyst to launch her “I’m famous because I’m so famous” career).
On a side-note: I personally refuse to let my kids watch that Miley Cyrus show until her dad shaves off that idiotic thing on his chin. WTF

They are famous because they’re a part of this Disney franchise. Millions of kids are buying their CD’s, merchandise, and concert tickets.
It also doesn’t hurt that they’re ‘teen heart throbs’, and all over teen mag. posters.
Wake up, because High School Musical, Miley, & the Jo Bros. are the next biggest thing. I mean you said yourself they’re all over the news, right?

Also, the Naked Brothers Band is a group that mainly consists of 2 brothers [Nat, and Alex Wolff]. There are 2 other kids in the band, also. They have a show on Nick. They are basically just a kid’s rock band. I, personally think their show isn’t that good. Their music is okay, a little too high-pitched for my taste
They areb’t so big yet, but they might be the next Jonas Brothers. Who knows?

Ok, first things first. i just spent 30 minutes rdg every single comment. (i was very bord) i like the jonas brothers, and have met them personally. But not by some wierd made up story that you guys keep making up. i met them in california WAY before jonas brothers came out, and thye became mega famous. I think I had to have been like 11. I think nick was like 13, and Joe like 15, or 16, and Kevin like 18. I was at the supermarket in L.A. with my uncle, and i saw them walking out. A few girls went up to them, as did i, because only few knew about nick jonas’ first album. i did, and so did this other girl, (nameless) who i am still friends with today. And we still joke about it today, seing as how if that would happen today, they might not be able to breath, forgt leaving. They might not remember this, but i do.
