She is stupid but lucky; her finances will allow her the freedom to have a life unlike many teens that do not have the financial backing even if they have the support of families.
Very few teens that get pregnant AND choose to keep their children will make it; going to school, working, AND childcare is VERY hard for the average single mom WITHOUT a college education let alone a teen single mother.
It is not good to perpetuate the cycle of poverty that does come with many unplanned pregnancies for single mothers let alone teens and glorifying her pregnancy by the media does that which is to say is great and easy to be a single parent and yet no mention of the hardships that go along with it and the naive people that buy into that, especially those that saw or see her as a role model might believe that.
Being a parent IS always hard work and even more as a single teen mom that does not have the finances nor support of this young lady. This IS the reality.

I’m 37 years old and I have a 9-month daughter. My wife and I posponed our pregnancy thinking constantly that we where not prepared yet. And here I am trying to understand, how can a 16-year-old young woman face such situation? It doesn’t matter if she and her boyfriend are facing this as “mature” people. They are very, very, young. I hope I’m smart enough to teach, support, and love my baby girl so she can learn that being a mom is the toughest, most important job that anyone can face.
Having sex at a young age is a private matter and as a society we are still dealing on how to debate it aside of morality, religion, etc. I share my compassion and best thoughts with this young woman that’s under so many pressure, critique, and humilliation. I share those same feelings with the thousands of young woman that are in the same situation all around the world.
You’re not alone and remember: there’s no stronger love, no stronger bond than the one that grows with a baby and their parents. Love is still the answer. Love thyself they used to say, love yourself if it sound better; love your offspring (make it a loving human being, that’s your only work).
