Mistakes are made. Some things are meant to happen the way they do. Our job is to make the best of out every situation. unfortunately a lot of us tend to linger on the negatives. We (the public) are, for the most part, responsible for these people’s actions. We judge, scrutinize, and criticize every move they make, every word they say, every outfit they wear and then feed on their so-called insanity. Imagine being hated by millions for every breath you take. Imagine not being able to wear comfy sweatpants or an old wifebeater to the store for fear of what may be said on the front page of a magazine the morning after. Yes, I understand, these people you call celebrities do serve as role models to many, however, people who DO look up to girls like Britney and Jamie-Lynn Spears need to understand that these girls are just as prone to mistakes as we are. We are the same. The only difference is, we are not pressured to impress the world. We are not followed around by old native men with cameras plastered to their hands. You want to tell someone to get a life? tell the men who are constantly stalking Paris, Britney, Nicole, etc. I will not deny that a lot of these celebs enjoy such exposure and I will certainly not deny that a lot of us enjoy reading about it. I also understand that it is difficult to read something about someone and not pass judgement, but we should atleast make an effort to ease off the criticism and the faultfinding. Celebrities are no better than us, and we are no better than them. We both feed off of eachother. We need them, they need us.
So please, the next time you read an article, or look at a picture, first, do not always assume that it is the truth, the media is NOT God. second, do not judge right away. Think about it, do you know people who have gone through what Britney, Lindsey, etc have gone through? I have numerous friends with drug or alcohol addictions, and their addictions do not seem half as bad as those of Britney, Lindsey, etc. Why? because they are not televised, because they are not made a big deal. Bottom line, it is still an addiction, it is still dangerous, regardless of who has it, regardless if it is in a magazine or not. My brother’s drug addiction could be just as bad as Britney’s.
