Kelly Rowland Thinks Brown is Beautiful

Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland talks in the upcoming issue of Essence about a time when she didn’t feel comfortable in her skin. “It’s said that brown-skinned girls don’t sell magazines and that’s so sad,” she tells the magazine. “I remember wishing I was more fair-skinned, but Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mom, would say, ‘Don’t you know how beautiful you are?’ She made me come into my brown beauty. I didn’t get it, but now I do. I am chocolate and beautiful and loving it.”
Meanwhile, her former bandmate Beyonce is recovering from a tumble she took at a show earlier in the week. During her sold out Orlando show, Beyonce fell down some stairs, landing on her face. “If you taped that, please don’t put it on YouTube,” said the singer after finishing the show. But within hours the clip was on YouTube. Unfortunately, most of those videos appear to have been pulled for copyright violations by now, otherwise I’d put it up. If anyone has a copy saved to a hard drive, drop me a line and I’ll upload it here.

i believe that kellys right black is beautiful but a large majority or the world would beg to differ it isnt fair that people just think that dark women have to be ugly and so we do many things that other girls dont have to do to attract the attion of a man it isnt fair I was watching 106and park and I dont even see that many dark black girls in videos it just not fair!

Thanx Kelly! My little cousin is 8 and she wants2 be lightsinnde so badly. But I tell her, “chocolate is beautiful” . Cause as soonas the sun comes out whte people out ther gettin tans, tryin 2 looklike us.

Kelly is a beautiful brown woman period. Whether she refers to herself as medium or dark brown doesn’t matter. Lighter doesn’t mean more beautiful and most African Americans are so over that foolishness! Where have you been???

It is true that dark skinned black women are not portrayed enough in the media. kelly rowland is quite pretty.is that some armpit hair i spot there though? anyway there are plenty that are evan more beautiful e.g gabriel union, stacey dash, jessica white, carla campbell and maira campbell
