Olivia Newton John and her daughter, Chloe, talk to Woman’s Day magazine about the battle with anorexia that they both seem to have convinced themselves Chloe is winning. When asked about how she’s doing today, Chloe says, “I’m taking very good care of myself now but I’m not going to be like ‘Oh, I eat pizza every day!’” I assure you this girl hasn’t eaten pizza since sometime in 2003. Get healthy, Chloe!! Those legs are NOT sexy and it is NO FUN to be hungry.
More interview highlights after the jump.

Chloe, given your mother is so healthy and clear-headed, did it take her long to see the signs?
I think that it’s hard for a parent to notice what their child is going through. Maybe sometimes parents don’t want to notice what’s going on. As a parent, you want to think everything is ok.
How did your mum react when you told her about your anorexia?
There wasn’t really a moment when I told her I had a problem. I was more in denial about it. I think she was the one that had to come to terms with it because everyone was in denial. When you go through things like that it’s a long process of accepting what’s going on.
Chloe, you’re still very slim today. Do you feel you’ve now triumphed over your eating disorder?
I’m taking very good care of myself now but I’m not going to be like ‘Oh, I eat pizza every day!’ And I’m honest about that. It hurts my heart when I think how many girls are going through that [eating disorders], and I’m lucky that I got through it because it’s a fatal thing if you don’t pull through it.
Olivia, what advice would you give to mothers in your situation?
That the parent need look at why their child has developed such a detrimental disease. And look at the issues causing the disorder. Listen to your child. Be supportive. Eating disorders are usually nothing to do with food. Parents need to be with their child to see them through it. All the therapists in the world can’t help if the parents aren’t present, loving and proactive.
Olivia, which of Chloe’s personal qualities are you most proud of?
I love her honesty. I love her purity. She’s a very loving girl. She’s very true in her strength of character. She’s gone through a lot and she’s got such strength. She’s got a great sense of humour. She’s very funny and very intelligent. And, then, obviously her talent.

what a huge fatass. This ho needs to loose a few pounds or go live in a cave. Obese whale!
people saying you want to ‘get’ anorexia to be skinny are like saying you want to get cancer to be skinny. i mean use your f*ing brain, anorexia isn’t a diet, and as a ‘cry for attention’ you will only be seen as more immature and unable to look after yourself as you were before.
trust me.
wow. all of you leaving comments…you are ignorant & insensitive. people suffering from this disease are not doing this to themselves by choice. it is serious. grow up & get educated on this subject, then you may comment.
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi!
laaaaaaaaaaaaa
i hav been searchin pro ana sites i’ve batted with binge eatin my whole life all eating disorders r hard! my heaviest waz 198lbs my lowest was 152lbs now i’m 178lbs… still battling.
she does look really fat now, her stomach is like all bloated and shit.
i’m happy that she is in recovery but she is getting really fat!
What are you talking about!? No one wants a lady that cracks in two if you hug her – her belly could very well “shape out” a little more and she might actually start looking like a healthy human ;)
With a piece of luck, some of it will go to her breasts and legs as well.
are you crazy????
Her arms and legs are quite okay !!
But look at her waste & stomach !!! Uhhhh – really fat !!
Go and get help Emelia you are really sick!
Her stomach is bloated because her body is getting use to normal eating again. She was manipulating her food for so long that her body doesn’t know how to break it down, and she might be restricted from exercise until her doctor says it is okay and at a healthy weight. How do I know this? I am recovering from this horrible illness and went through the same thing. This isn’t something that you just wake up and say ok i am going to starve myself and get all the attention i want. hell no, its much deeper than that, basically its another way to cope with the issues in our lives; like coaches telling us to lose weight, family life, friends, school, being a dancer, the list can go on. so learn about anorexia before spreading your opinion, because you never know that someone you love might be suffering from this.
There are “skinny” groups out there who eat low-cal foods and exercise alot and are able o achieve their perfect weight. They are healthy, live longer, metabolze much less, and have clearer heads than the “burners”. It does take a community however, so if you want to get thin and stay that way, find a healthy group and stick with it.
Generally speaking eating disorders develop from treatment as a child. Quite often a child will be restricted in their actions, and intake is something they are able to control. Yes parents may force food into their child’s mouth and make them swallow, hence forth the birth of bolimia… The same applies to those who have the ability to speak but refuse to.
wow she is beautiful. I love it. She is so thin. Lovely.
